The following is a documentation of architecture and cultural design in Cusco, Peru. Constellations shaped temples, windows, and pathways, carving the sky into the ground. Not just ancient architecture, but evidence of a world built through alignment in the natural world.
Documentations from late June, 2025.
The Andean sky was read not only in bright star patterns but in the dark clouds of the Milky Way, which the people called the sacred river or Wilka Mayu.
The Inti Raymi is a very important Andean ceremony that dates back to Inca times and is still celebrated today. It is held every June 24, on the winter solstice, in Cusco city, on the esplanade of Sacsayhuaman.
To watch was not passive. Observation was my form of participation. By gathering, dancing, and weaving, people carried culture forward through repetition and presence. What was seen became memory, what was repeated became tradition, and what was built became proof that culture survives through attention.
